Mother Magnolia's Videos

We Love Video

Mother Magnolia endeavors to use the power of image, sound and video to communicate and educate.

In 2007 Tom began working with media creative Seth McLain, with whom he had previously collaborated musically, to document his landscape projects through video. It is an evolving process that we feel has turned out to be a great sucess.

We hope you enjoy these glimpses into the transformative process of landscaping.

HGTV's "Landscaper's Challenge"

Mother Magnolia competed in HGTV's "Landscaper's Challenge" four times, winning three of those times. In each case, clients appreciated his ability to hear what they wanted, translate it into a compelling design, and then make it reality. Enjoy.

Tom's Victory Garden

Mother Magnolia has always been a proponent of local food. You can find Tom at the Pasadena Farmer's Market most Saturday mornings. Beginning in fall of 2008 he committed to ripping out most of his front yard and planting a victory garden. Here are several pieces showing why and how a Victory Garden is an exciting and satisfying way to use one's front yard.

Residential Projects

Since 2007 we've been documenting many of our projects, both for fun, and as a way to further educate our clients on what to expect during their own landscape transformations. Check 'em out. Perhaps they'll give you some ideas for your own space.
